WASHINGTON — Mike Davis, founder and president of the Article III Project, today called on Senate leadership to force members to remain in session and work to ensure timely confirmation of President Trump’s pending nominees. A3P is leveraging its massive grassroots infrastructure, today also launching a direct call-to-action campaign urging Americans to contact their senators to tell them to work until the job is done.

“Senate Majority Leader John Thune has done a tremendous job of confirming President Trump’s Cabinet in record speed. But the Senate’s job isn’t done at the Cabinet level. The Senate needs more than a three-day workweek to get the job done. Senate Democrats are obstructing, but La Résistance cannot resist. . .long weekends. With an ever-growing backlog of pivotal positions yet to be filled, the new government cannot function effectively when crucial roles remain vacant and Biden bureaucrats remain in charge. To speed up this process, Senate leadership must extend their working hours and remain in session, working throughout the full workweek and even on weekends, if necessary, until all of President Trump’s nominees are confirmed. It’s amazing how many nominees the Senate can confirm simply by threatening to make senators work past 2 pm on Thursdays. Let’s end the Senate’s French workweek. Senators must take a break from taking a break, put the nation’s needs first, and move forward with these confirmations immediately. Recess is for kids,” said Davis.

The Article III Project (A3P) was founded by veteran GOP operative and attorney Mike Davis, who, after helping win the Senate confirmation battles of Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, developed the reputation as a “take-no-prisoners conservative eager to challenge the left with hardball tactics,” as reported in The New York Times.‍‍

‍A3P defends constitutionalist judges, punches back on radical assaults on judicial independence (like court-packing) and opposes judicial and other nominees who are outside of the mainstream. Davis previously served as Chief Counsel for Nominations to Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) on the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary and led the Senate confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh and a record number of circuit court judges.
