WASHINGTON – Mike Davis, Founder and President of Article III Project (A3P) and Internet Accountability Project (IAP), issued the following statement after the Senate confirmed Gail Slater as the Assistant Attorney General for the Department of Justice Antitrust Division.
“Congratulations to Gail Slater, my good friend, on her bipartisan Senate confirmation to lead the Trump 47 Justice Department’s Antitrust Division. Gail Slater is a brilliant antitrust attorney and America First populist.
"President Trump is making crystal clear he's continuing what he started in his first term: The bipartisan antitrust law-enforcement effort to hold accountable the trillion-dollar Big Tech monopolists that crush competition, shutter small businesses, censor those with whom they disagree, and do China’s bidding.
"President Trump made the perfect choice with Gail Slater, who will help the President and Attorney General Pam Bondi make America competitive again.
"We thank Senate Majority Leader John Thune and Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley on their strong leadership in quickly and flawlessly securing Gail Slater’s bipartisan confirmation, and we thank the Senate Democrats who set aside political differences to vote for Gail Slater.
"Gail Slater will continue the bipartisan antitrust renaissance started by President Trump and continued under President Biden, and today’s vote is a major victory for American small businesses and consumers,” said Davis.
A3P led a successful grassroots effort that resulted in thousands of contacts to senators to confirm Slater. This is part of a larger confirmation push across A3P's Action Center that led to more than 60,000 Americans leaving 240,000 connections with U.S. Senators.
The Article III Project (A3P) was founded by veteran GOP operative and attorney Mike Davis, who, after helping win the Senate confirmation battles of Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, developed the reputation as a “take-no-prisoners conservative eager to challenge the left with hardball tactics,” as reported in The New York Times.
IAP is a nonprofit conservative advocacy group that holds Big Tech accountable for engaging in egregious business practices like snooping, spying, political bias against conservatives, employee abuses and anticompetitive conduct. Davis previously served as Chief Counsel for Nominations to Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) on the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary and led the Senate confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh and a record number of circuit court judges.
