WASHINGTON – Mike Davis, founder and president of the Article III Project, issued the following statement after the Senate voted to confirm Judge Jason Reding Quiñones as the U.S Attorney for the Southern District of Florida:
“Today’s Senate confirmation of Jason Reding Quiñones as the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida is a major victory for the rule of law, public safety, and the Constitution. Judge Reding Quiñones, my good friend, is the perfect pick by President Trump to lead this critical office, the third largest U.S. attorney’s office in America, which serves Miami, Palm Beach, and the broader South Florida region.
“As a former federal prosecutor, national security official at the Justice Department, respected Miami trial judge, and lieutenant colonel in the Air Force Reserve, Jason brings unmatched experience and integrity to the role. He has deep Florida roots and an unshakable commitment to justice, qualities that will serve this community and our country well.
“Jason will put an end to the political weaponization of federal law enforcement. He will hold accountable those who have trampled the constitutional rights of Americans and return focus to prosecuting the real crimes that affect real people—violent crime, migrant crime, and threats to public safety.
“Judge Reding Quiñones is the kind of bold, principled leader we need right now. A3P is excited to see him move swiftly in restoring law and order to one of the most important U.S. Attorney’s offices in the country,” said Davis.
The Article III Project (A3P) was founded by veteran GOP operative and attorney Mike Davis, who, after helping win the Senate confirmation battles of Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, developed the reputation as a “take-no-prisoners conservative eager to challenge the left with hardball tactics,” as reported in The New York Times.
A3P defends constitutionalist judges, punches back on radical assaults on judicial independence (like court-packing) and opposes judicial and other nominees who are outside of the mainstream. Davis previously served as Chief Counsel for Nominations to Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) on the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary and led the Senate confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh and a record number of circuit court judges.
