WASHINGTON – Mike Davis, founder and president of the Article III Project, issued the following statement after the Senate confirmed a new slate of Department of Justice officials, including multiple U.S. Attorneys:
“President Trump is delivering on his promise to end weaponized lawfare and restore the rule of law. These confirmations strengthen the Justice Department and ensure federal prosecutors answer to the Constitution.
“Leader Thune deserves praise for keeping the Senate moving, and Chairman Chuck Grassley continues to prove he is President Trump’s most effective ally. Under Grassley’s leadership, the Senate is advancing U.S. Attorneys through his Committee faster than during the Biden administration and confirming judges at a pace exceeding President Trump’s first term.
“Despite relentless Democrat obstruction, President Trump secured the confirmation of 31 U.S. Attorneys, the same number confirmed in Biden’s first year. These confirmations mark real progress toward rebuilding a Justice Department that is tough, fair, and accountable. This is a win for these public servants and a win for the American people who gave President Trump a mandate to clean up Washington and restore equal justice under law,” said Davis.
The Article III Project (A3P) was founded by veteran GOP operative and attorney Mike Davis, who, after helping win the Senate confirmation battles of Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, developed the reputation as a “take-no-prisoners conservative eager to challenge the left with hardball tactics,” as reported in The New York Times.
A3P defends constitutionalist judges, punches back on radical assaults on judicial independence (like court-packing) and opposes judicial and other nominees who are outside of the mainstream. Davis previously served as Chief Counsel for Nominations to Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) on the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary and led the Senate confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh and a record number of circuit court judges.
