WASHINGTON – Mike Davis, founder and president of the Article III Project, issued the following statement after the Senate confirmed 48 of President Trump’s bipartisan nominees:
“Leader Thune and the Republican majority deserve strong praise for their strategic leadership in clearing procedural roadblocks and putting an end to Senator Schumer’s unprecedented obstruction. Republicans will no longer tolerate Democrat sabotage or stonewalling.
“This is not just a win for these outstanding public servants. It’s a win for the American people who gave President Trump a mandate to change Washington. With this momentum, we will soon confirm even more nominees, including bold and fearless judges and Department of Justice officials who respect the Constitution and love their country,” said Davis.
The Article III Project (A3P) defends constitutionalist judges, punches back on radical assaults on judicial independence (like court-packing) and opposes judicial and other nominees who are outside of the mainstream. Davis previously served as Chief Counsel for Nominations to Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) on the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary and led the Senate confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh and a record number of circuit court judges.
