WASHINGTON – Mike Davis, founder and president of the Article III Project, issued the following statement after the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to advance Todd Blanche’s nomination for attorney general out of the committee, sending him to a full Senate vote:
“Under the steady and strong leadership of Chairman Chuck Grassley, the Senate Judiciary Committee just favorably reported the nomination of Todd Blanche to serve as the next Attorney General of the United States.
“Grassley expertly mediated the resolution of a good-faith dispute between the President's team and Senators Cornyn and Tillis. The Senate process worked, and the nomination is now strong.
“Thanks to Grassley's hard work, Todd Blanche's nomination will go to the full Senate with major momentum instead of a cloud of uncertainty.
“The Senate will likely confirm Todd Blanche, a very good man and a highly qualified nominee, on Saturday. Grassley works, Grassley delivers. Again.” said Davis.
