WASHINGTON — Mike Davis, founder and president of the Article III Project, issued the following statement after the Senate voted to confirm Whitney Hermandorfer to the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals:
“Whitney Hermandorfer’s confirmation to the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals is a major victory for the rule of law, constitutional fidelity, and the American people. She brings to the bench a rock solid record of constitutionalism. A former law clerk to Supreme Court Justices Samuel Alito and Amy Coney Barrett, as well as to Judge Brett Kavanaugh on the D.C. Circuit, she is deeply rooted in originalism and committed to interpreting the law as written.
“Her leadership in high-profile cases, especially those standing up against the radical left’s trans agenda, shows her courage and her clarity in applying the Constitution without fear or favor. With her confirmation, the Sixth Circuit gains a jurist of unwavering integrity and deep respect for our founding principles. President Trump’s selection of her is exactly the kind of decisive action needed to restore constitutional order and rein in judicial activism, all while standing up to the lawfare against President Trump.
“Article III Project’s judicial misconduct complaint against Judge Wynn, who rescinded his retirement after Trump’s victory, pressured Judge Jane Stranch into not rescinding her retirement, allowing President Trump to fill this seat with a constitutionalist judge. The Senate deserves praise for recognizing her qualifications and confirming a judge who will defend liberty, enforce the law faithfully, and strengthen the judiciary for years to come,” said Davis.
The Article III Project (A3P) was founded by veteran GOP operative and attorney Mike Davis, who, after helping win the Senate confirmation battles of Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, developed the reputation as a “take-no-prisoners conservative eager to challenge the left with hardball tactics,” as reported in The New York Times.
A3P defends constitutionalist judges, punches back on radical assaults on judicial independence (like court-packing) and opposes judicial and other nominees who are outside of the mainstream. Davis previously served as Chief Counsel for Nominations to Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) on the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary and led the Senate confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh and a record number of circuit court judges.
