WASHINGTON - Mike Davis, founder and president of the Article III Project, issued the following statement after President Trump's nomination of Jennifer Mascott to be a judge on the Third Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals.
“President Trump’s announcement of Jennifer Mascott to serve on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit is great news for the rule of law, the Constitution, and the country. President Trump continues to make superb nominations who are even more bold and fearless in their commitment to the proper role and responsibility of the judiciary. Jennifer Mascott’s experience as a Supreme Court clerk, her service at the Department of Justice during President Trump’s first term, and her current service in the White House Counsel’s Office, demonstrate her exceptional qualifications and readiness. She is a constitutional scholar and a patriot, and will make an excellent circuit court judge. Article III Project will ensure she is confirmed," said Davis.
The Article III Project (A3P) was founded by veteran GOP operative and attorney Mike Davis, who, after helping win the Senate confirmation battles of Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, developed the reputation as a “take-no-prisoners conservative eager to challenge the left with hardball tactics,” as reported in The New York Times.
A3P defends constitutionalist judges, punches back on radical assaults on judicial independence (like court-packing) and opposes judicial and other nominees who are outside of the mainstream. Davis previously served as Chief Counsel for Nominations to Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) on the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary and led the Senate confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh and a record number of circuit court judges.
